Pure Data Patching Circle
a experimental workspace for diverse practices working with free software & tools;
somewhere between hackerspace and co-working space
it's at times:
classroom,
conference venue,
(ir)regular meeting place,
studio,
residency,
gallery,
kitchen table
& cafeteria
our TOOLS
are increasingly mediated by software and the algorithmic and legal dynamics that constraint and shape its use.
Reconnecting to the material (both physical and digital) is a vital means of (re)asserting ownership and ensuring an active participation in the future development of our work practices

Who's idea of freedom?
When Richard Stallman initiated the Free Software Foundation and GNU project, it was not purely out of love of the collective.
He was also concerned about how the legal conditions of his work (at University) meant that he himself could lose control of his own creative production. The GNU license was a way to ensure that the conditions of one's (digital) work were equitable to those creating it.
